Why I Built This
I did not build Finish Your Writing Projects because scholars needed another productivity system.
I built it because our fields cannot afford to lose the knowledge that never reaches the page.
Over more than twenty years I have learned that unfinished writing is rarely a reflection of intelligence, commitment, or potential. More often, it reflects the conditions under which scholars are expected to think, write, teach, care for others, navigate institutions, and still produce meaningful knowledge.

How does the program address my specific writing needs?
Before the program begins, you will meet with Dr. Bhattacharya one-on-one to discuss your writing project and the scholarly skills you most want to strengthen. I have been stuck for years. Will eight weeks actually move the work?
Yes, if you come ready to work. FYWP is not a productivity system. It is a structured experience with live writing time, intellectual dialogue, and real feedback on your specific project. Scholars who have been circling the same chapter for years have left with completed drafts. What changes is not the project. What changes is the conditions under which you write it.

What writing projects are appropriate to bring?
Any scholarly writing project that matters to you. Dissertation chapters, journal articles, book chapters, manuscripts, grant proposals, literature reviews. If it has been waiting, bring it.

Is this only for qualitative researchers?
No. Finish Your Writing Project is designed for scholars and writers across disciplines. While Dr. Bhattacharya's methodological expertise is in qualitative inquiry, the writing process, intellectual partnership, feedback, and scholarly development apply broadly across the humanities, social sciences, education, and creative practice. Quantitative scholars often find the program valuable for every aspect of scholarly writing except discipline-specific methodological discourse.

What if I am between projects or still shaping my idea?
This is an excellent time to join. You do not need a completed draft to benefit from the program.
If you are developing an idea, clarifying your argument, or deciding what to write next, your individual discovery conversation, the customized workshops, and the dialogue within your small cohort provide the intellectual partnership to shape your project before moving it forward. You will continue receiving that support through one year of monthly group mentoring and lifetime access to the scholarly community.

How much time do I need each week?
Beyond the live sessions, you will need protected writing time each week. The program is designed to help you build and protect that time, not add to an already impossible schedule.

How large is the cohort?
FYWP runs with a small cohort by design, with only 6-8 scholars. The intellectual dialogue, customized workshops, and feedback that make this program work require a community small enough for every scholar to be seen, heard, and supported. You will not be lost in a crowd.

Is this program trauma-informed?
Yes. The program is designed with an understanding that many scholars carry experiences of institutional harm, marginalization, and systemic barriers that show up in the writing process. The pace, the structure, and the relational approach of this program are all designed to work with your whole nervous system, not against it.

Is this for neurodivergent scholars?
Yes. The program is trauma-informed and paced with neurodivergent nervous systems in mind. You will find structured writing blocks, clear frameworks, and a community that does not require you to perform neurotypical productivity. You are not expected to be someone you are not in order to participate fully.

Do I have to share my writing out loud?
You choose what you share and when. Feedback is offered in a space built for trust. You will benefit from the dialogue whether you share your own work or witness others receiving feedback on theirs.

What if I am in a different time zone?
All sessions are held live and are recorded. You will have access to all recordings for one full year, so if you miss a session or need to revisit the material, you can do so at your own pace. Session times will be confirmed with enrolled scholars before the program begins so we can find the best fit for the cohort.

What happens after the eight weeks?
The program continues. You receive monthly live group mentoring for one full year and lifetime access to the scholarly community. The eight weeks are the beginning, not the whole of it.

I have tried other writing programs and they did not work. Why would this one?
Most writing programs address productivity. FYWP addresses the conditions under which you write: intellectual, structural, relational, and personal. You leave with a personalized writing heuristic that is yours to use on every project going forward, not a method that only works inside this program.

What is your refund policy?
Once you are enrolled and the cohort has begun, refunds are not available. My time, labor, and the community you enter cannot be returned. If you have questions about fit before enrolling, use the Let's Chat button to talk first.
