ABOUT
Dr. Kakali Bhattacharya
Dr. Kakali Bhattacharya is an award-winning scholar, methodological innovator, and sought-after mentor with over 20 years of experience in qualitative research, critical methodologies, and trauma-informed scholarly practice. She is known for building research and mentoring architectures that honor sovereignty, depth, and structural clarity.
Her work centers South Asian diasporic realities, de/colonial inquiry, arts-based research, and Par/Des(i) ontoepistemologies. She is the recipient of the Egon Guba Award for Outstanding Contributions to Qualitative Research and has been named one of the Top 25 Women in Higher Education by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
In addition to authoring over 100 publications, Dr. Bhattacharya serves as editor for Futures of Data Analysis in Qualitative Research and Departures in Critical Qualitative Research. She mentors scholars across disciplines, career stages, and institutional contexts—offering high-frequency, no-performance containers for truth-telling, strategy, and release.
