WHY THIS WORKSHOP IS DIFFERENT

This Isn't Your Typical Tech-Bro AI Training

You've seen them everywhere - AI 'gurus' promising to 10x your productivity with ChatGPT hacks. But simply claiming efficiency and less time use only contributes to toxic productivity culture. As academics, we need critical, thoughtful, and ethical engagement with AI - not an argument to do more work faster. That is a recipe for burnout and fatigue.

WHAT YOU WON'T FIND HERE

Toxic productivity and hustle culture

AI-assisted research bypassing critical reflection and thoughtfulness

AI assisted pedagogy bypassing critical learning experiences

Argument for using AI driven by time saving and efficiency gains

Plagiarism techniques disguised as "prompting" or "editing."

Tech worship without critical thinking

One-size-fits-all templates

WHAT YOU WILL FIND HERE

Ethical frameworks for academic AI use

Real applications for YOUR specific research and teaching

A judgment-free community of fellow academics

Agency over your own AI practice

Built on 20+ years of trauma informed, inclusive, disruptive to dysfunctional thinking of various systems, this workshop honors your intelligence while critically expanding your technological capabilities.

Meet Your Instructor: Dr. Kakali Bhattacharya

I'm Dr. Kakali Bhattacharya

I bring 20+ years of finding criticality, ethics, trauma-informed, cultural situatedness to this AI exploration. As someone trained in instructional design and technology in my graduate program, I bring unpretentious ways of discussing technology integration without sacrificing your soul or agency. I am excellent at breaking complex ideas into actionable pieces without making it seem intimidating.

I am an award-winning professor with 100+ publications, who understands the unique challenges academics face when integrating new technologies.

Why Learn AI From Me?

  •   Created my own culturally situated theoretical framework, Par/Des(i) ontoepistemologies and six tenets that creates a responsiveness towards a community who craved this kind of representation in theorized spaces
  •   I design and create inclusive,  trauma-informed learning spaces for neurodiverse thinkers
  •  I have been using  AI in my personal and professional work, especially being sensitive to trauma, stress, overwhelm tat comes with the terrain of academic work.
  •   I am committed to agency over extraction in all technological engagement

My Approach: "I'm not here to make you an AI enthusiast. I'm here to give you independent choice over how you engage with these tools. No hype. No shame. Just clear understanding and ethical frameworks for YOUR academic journey."

This workshop emerges from the intersection of critical wisdom and technological evolution - designed for academics ready to engage both with integrity.

Ready to Stop Hiding Your AI Curiosity?

The academic world is changing whether we engage or not. You can either:

  •  Keep using AI in secret, hoping you don't get called out
  • Avoid it completely yet suspect your students are using it, journals are creating policies around AI, and you are not minimally familiar with the potentials and problems with AI. The problems you know about stem from broad talking points with minimal or shallow or no engagement with AI
  •  OR claim your agency and learn to engage ethically
This workshop is for academics choosing the third path
